Alina Popova holds a Master of Science in Business Analytics & Econometrics from the University of Cologne. Her academic path reflects a commitment to understanding how technology can be harnessed responsibly to drive innovation while upholding ethical values.
During her studies, Alina Popova gained hands-on experience in the field of Data Ethics at DATEV eG, where she was engaged in critical topics such as Corporate Digital Responsibility (CDR) and value-oriented technology management. Her passion for responsible innovation was further reflected in her master’s thesis: "AI and Fairness in the Context of Salary Prediction: Can Salary Prediction be Fair?", where she examined gender bias in salary data and the effectiveness of bias mitigation techniques in addressing the Gender Pay Gap.
Since February 2025, Alina Popova has been a Research Associate at the Chair of Information Systems and Information Management of Prof. Dr. Oliver Hinz. In collaboration with spotixx, she is contributing to a research project aimed at fostering the integration of compliant and trustworthy AI in the financial sector.
