TransFair: Standardized Conformity Assessment for AI Systems
In an era where AI systems are increasingly used in sensitive and high-risk areas, the “TransFair” project aims to establish clear standards and processes for conformity assessment. The focus is on fairness and transparency to promote the responsible use of AI.
This project incorporates the latest research insights and regulatory requirements, such as the EU AI Act and the Algorithmic Accountability Act. The goal is to provide organizations with a simple and automated solution for assessing the conformity of their AI systems.
The TransFair project is divided into three work units:
- Definition of quantifiable quality criteria: Development of metrics to evaluate the fairness and explainability of AI.
- Conceptualization of a (semi-)automated assessment process: Design of a process that is both user-friendly and scientifically robust.
- Implementation of a software solution: Integration of the developed criteria and processes into an intuitive and efficient software platform.
TransFair not only supports organizations in meeting regulatory requirements but also establishes new standards for the responsible use of AI. In the long term, the project contributes to strengthening Hesse as an innovation leader in responsible AI and promotes sustainable economic development in the region.
