Markus Franz (born in 1984) studied economics at the Goethe University Frankfurt. The focus of his studies was on Marketing and Finance. In January 2011 he finished university with a diploma in business administration. His final thesis, „Visualizing product spaces in recommendation agents via correspondence analysis“, empirically investigates the influence of graphical information provision on search performance and loyalty of recommendation system users.

He gained practical experiences in the market research department of the Arcor AG & Co. KG. From April 2011 to June 2016 he was staffed as Ressearch Assistant at the Chair of Business Informatics especially Electronic Markets.
